The World Economic Forum begins tomorrow in Davos and market participants are trying to guesstimate if the presidential elections year of 2020 would look like 2015, 2007 or 2017. This year’s main themes would be the climate targets around the world and cyber-security.
On Tuesday, the Bank of Japan will have it’s monetary policy meeting. On Wednesday, it will be the Bank of Canada’s turn. On Thursday the ECB and the Norges Bank (Norway) are having their monetary meetings.
The Berlin summit over Libya, that took place during the weekend has resulted in an agreement by all participants to not supply weapons to the country and respect arms embargo. That is not a cease fire agreement, but it is the first step towards avoiding a new Syria. Heads of state and lawmakers from Russia, Turkey, Egypt, The UAE, France Germany , UK, China and USA participated in the summit.
