Market Recap- The Japanese Golden Week

If it wasn’t for the Wednesday’s FOMC meeting and the ongoing final laps of trade negotiations between China and the USA, we are experiencing a quite week with the Japanese markets closed, celebrating the emperor’s abdication, the Orthodox Christians returning from their Eastern Vacations and tomorrows International Worker’s day.

Yesterday’s core PCE (the metric that is most watched by the FED to dictate it’s monetary policy, decreased, resulting to markets pricing an increasing probability of a rate cut within 2019. 2% probability for a rate cut tomorrow, 21% probability on 19 June, 31.3% on 31 July, 63.3% on 11 December.

Today it is Apple’s turn to publish 1Q19 earnings. Yesterday, the Google’s earnings disappointed.
