KoolooraCapital has recently joined our platform but his trading system has been already running for 75 weeks, recording significant profits. The Trader uses a combination of grid and hedging strategies as well as he generates a significant volume of trades on multiple instruments as part of the desirable densification. However KoolooraCapital uses position sizing techniques, thus it will be mandatory for investors to use the PRO-RATA mode in order to benefit the most of this strategy. Also, you should review Trader’s last 1-month performance as history has been imported.
Within 75 weeks, the PnL has reached A$54,000 while the Avg Trade Time is 1 day, Winning Trades 77%, and the Max Open Trades are 98.
Let’s meet him and read about his trading experience at ZuluTrade.
Tell us about your trading background and how you got started trading
I started trading in 2003. So long ago and yet it seems to be like yesterday that I watched a friend trading the stock market from the comfort of his home. The dream of working from my laptop now well and truly alive and kicking. I started reading as much as I could about the stock market and noticed that you could buy and sell with options and futures so I started down that route, then indices and finally onto Forex around 2007. I did a course and had a mentor that taught me a huge amount but I still wasn’t cracking the consistency that I craved. I took a few years off from trading and traveled and lived overseas before getting back into trading in 2016. I just really focused on risk management and money management, as these were the areas I felt I was letting myself down on.
When did you first discover ZuluTrade? What was it about ZuluTrade that got your interest?
I first came across Zulutrade around 2010 and noticed that it could be a great idea, when the time was right, to be able to leverage other people’s money on the platform to create another stream of consistent income for both client and myself.
Give us the basic structure of your strategy.
The strategy that is being traded on the Kooloora Capital account is a grid with hedging capabilities.
What’s your trade management approach – taking profit and exits, trade size, and account-level risk management?
It starts each grid with a tiny sized trade and then adds more trades in with very small increments depending on the price movement. All the while adjusting the take profit and stop losses. The AI makes thousands of decisions every second. If the market starts moving in the incorrect way then it adds tiny hedge trades as well.
How can your followers get the best by your strategy?
My followers and investors need to give the AI a minimum of 1 month to see how the balancing of the trades happens. DO NOT close the trades manually yourself. The account will have small drawdowns as the hedging capabilities and the grid is calculating new trades to counter this. You MUST USE the Pro Rata option, otherwise, the account will not be able to balance the lot sizes properly. It is all about long term sustainability in trading as you can see from the history of this account. I have recommended the Pro Rata option with an account size of $50,000 if you are trading with Standard Lots. Less if trading mini and micro-lots.
How do you feel when you have a good and a bad trade? How are you dealing with this?
When I first started trading I used to freak out about losses and used to close trades early all the time. Now I am very happy setting my trades and dealing with drawdowns is normal because I have stuck to my trading plan. I can remember reading a book called Trading In The Zone and it helped me deal with the mental side. If you are mentally weak and insecure, then trading will be not good for your health. LOL.
Finally, if you could give some advice for the aspiring traders out there, what would it be?
Get rid of all your indicators. Learn how to trade just the Price Action to start and how to Risk Manage properly and safely, because if you don’t then your account will disappear very quickly, and your dream of trading full time will disappear with it. If you are still struggling, then invest with me and we can go on a journey together.
